About Me

I am a technology leader specializing in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, and IT Architecture. I bring years of hands-on experience designing enterprise systems, enabling data platforms, and building software that solves real-world business problems.

I love data and my whole professional experiences were bound to it.

Outside my professional work, I am the creator of RepoDB, an open-source data access library for .NET. Building and maintaining RepoDB has become one of the most rewarding parts of my career, shaping how I think about software design, developer experience, long-term maintainability, and the future of application development.

My passion for Microsoft technologies runs deep, earning me certification as a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (Web, Windows, Distributed) and Microsoft Certified Professional for Enterprise Applications.

Technology continues to evolve rapidly, but I believe great engineering is built on timeless principles: simplicity, reliability, reusability, and continuous learning.

Personal Life and Hobbies

Outside technology, I enjoy staying active by cycling and running. I also enjoy spending quality time with my son, playing Roblox, Counter-Strike 2, and Dota 2 together.

In my spare time, I am learning the Danish language to embrace more the culture of Denmark.

I love to travel and experience different cultures. Discovering local traditions, cuisines, and meeting people from different backgrounds continues to inspire me both personally and professionally.

Music has always been part of my life. My playlist ranges from classical music and alternative rock to timeless artists such as the Bee Gees, Scorpions, and Oasis. I also enjoy classics from Boyzone, Backstreet Boys, Westlife, Michael Learns to Rock, and The Moffatts.

Professional Life

I currently work at ร˜rsted A/S, a global leader in renewable energy based in Denmark, where I lead architecture for a Data team enabling SCADA data for Advanced Analytics for Offshore Wind.

My responsibilities include designing the application landscape, driving architectural decisions, collaborating with Business Stakeholders, Solution Managers and fellow architects, and leading research and proof-of-concept initiatives that shape future solutions.

Although architecture is my primary responsibility, I strongly believe architects should remain hands-on. I continue to design, build, and implement software solutions because practical experience leads to better architectural decisions.

IT Architecture

My architecture journey began in 2018 after relocating to Denmark. Working alongside architects from different countries has given me valuable international experience and broadened my perspective on solving technical challenges.

My architectural philosophy is straightforward:

  • Build robust and reliable solutions.
  • Keep systems simple whenever possible.
  • Design for extensibility and long-term maintainability.
  • Validate ideas through proof-of-concepts before making significant investments.

Today, I own Technical and Application Architecture for a vertical slice of the organization while also contributing as a Solution Architect, helping ensure alignment across multiple systems and teams.

This same philosophy guided the design of RepoDB. Envisioned in 2018, it required careful architectural thinking to remain extensible and adaptable for future technologies. Seeing those early design decisions continue to pay off has been one of the most satisfying parts of the journey.

Software Engineering

Software engineering has been at the core of my career since the beginning.

Over the years, I have designed, built, and productionized enterprise applications across numerous projects. One of the highlights was leading a large engineering team responsible for delivering a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution for a leading ERP organization.

Principles such as SOLID, DRY, Clean Code, and maintainability are more than development practicesโ€”they are standards that influence how I design systems and lead engineering work.

One of my long-time inspirations is Anders Hejlsberg, the creator of C#. Meeting him in Denmark during a TypeScript presentation remains one of the memorable moments in my professional journey.

Data Engineering

My journey in Data Engineering began in 2006 and continues today.

Working across both software engineering and data engineering has given me a unique perspective on building high-performance data platforms. I enjoy designing efficient data pipelines, optimizing performance, and understanding how systems behave at the lowest practical level.

As Python became increasingly important within data engineering, I naturally brought the same engineering discipline that I developed in .NETโ€”writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

Whether using commercial products or developing custom solutions, I enjoy finding the right balance between performance, simplicity, and long-term maintainability.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence has become an exciting new chapter in my professional journey.

I actively work with modern large language models such as Claude and ChatGPT to assist with software development, documentation, research, and problem-solving. I am using Grok when refining my tweets at X (previously Twitter) and is also exploring open-source models (Llama, DeepSeek) and local AI environments (orchestarted by Llama, Microsoft Foundry) to better understand where AI can create meaningful value for developers and enterprise organizations.

Rather than viewing AI as a replacement for software engineering, I see it as a powerful tool that can amplify developer productivity, accelerate learning, and enable better decision-making.

As AI continues to evolve, I aim to bring those innovations into RepoDB and future projects while staying focused on building practical solutions that solve real problems.

What Iโ€™m Working On

Technology never stands still, and neither do I. Some of the areas Iโ€™m currently focused on include:

  • Expanding RepoDB to support additional relational database providers.
  • Building the RepoDB ecosystem beyond ORM, including developer productivity capabilities.
  • Exploring how AI can improve software engineering, data engineering, and enterprise architecture.
  • Continuously learning modern technologies while remaining grounded in proven engineering principles.

I enjoy building software that lasts, sharing knowledge with the community, and continually learning new ways to solve complex problems. Whether designing enterprise architectures, contributing to open source, or exploring the future of AI, my goal remains the same: build technology that makes a meaningful difference.
